Rousseau was an enlightenment philosopher who had a big impact on the revolutionary's idea of gender rolls. For rousseau, women aren't only responsible for just kind of no giving birth, but also for raising and educating their children correctly so that they're able to participate in society. But this framework was actually really popular with women during the revolution,. particularly many radical women who were involved with the popular movement.
