The New Covenant Promise of the Prophets Picks Up the Old Covenant Promise

The covenants in some sense are anticipating the need for the perfect last Adam to render perfect covenant obedience and also pay for the very penalty of our sin before God. Yet it's only in Christ under the new covenant that we have a covenant head that obeys for us in his entire life. So he becomes our perfect obedient covenant keeper. And also is the one who bears our sin and takes our penalty upon himself. That is how we have a redeemer in Christ.
