Before February, Bitcoin felt like super inaccessible to build on. Ordinals has some pretty interesting properties that were unique one. The changes needed for ordinals to happen, they sort of like already happened with taproot and that route had all the support because it came from the right parties. And then the ordinals was discovered much later.
