Is a Shared Mental Model Necessary?
I don't think a shared mental model is necessary to explain all those things you're describing it's one way of explaining it auditory me saying pass that's an auditory piece of information just like a visual piece of information right I don't need a complex representation of the defensive layout of the four three defense in football or whatever to interpret that. It looks like people are doing the same thing at the same time because they're picking up the same information at thesame time so if there's meaning attached to language which we know exist in team sports quite commonly especially at the highest levels they're collective representations no not necessary, Rob says.
