How to Use Your Magic System to Create Emotional Problems

The magic system in this anime I'm watching called Tokyo or Avengers, and it allows the main character to go into the past to try and remedy a certain conflict. Another thing you can do is you can make emotional repercussions and emotional consequences to the use of magic. It's not that magic itself. evokes emotion but more so than because like when I watch Avatar, I think it's super cool that fireballs are flicking and throwing around and stuff. But it's mostly about the conflict that they have between each other and how that can be levied into what you're wanting to tell.
