There's no attempt to take parts of Russia proper, the Russian Federation. The government of Vladimir Zielensky wants to keep the Russians out of all territory that they've occupied since 2014. That means Crimea taking back the Crimean Peninsula. And it means the key cities in the east of Donetsk and Lohansk.
