Alzheimer's - How Tau Spreads From Cell to Cell
My lab's working on this idea of how tau spreads from cell to cell. This is actually a really common theme in neurodegeneration, that there's always a focal point where the pathology seems to start and then it spreads to other parts of the brain. Why certain areas are more vulnerable for CTE versus temporal lobe for Alzheimer's is not clear. But the spread seems to happen through connections. So, we're trying to understand what's involved in that spread.
