A lot of the discussion is centered on economics, which i think it's important. But if that's where all our focus is, we're overlooking other factors. Just because their opportunities available to a young kid, doesn't mean they're going to leap at them. You need like a minimum base line of stability and nurturing environment for kids before they can even consider taking those initional steps for their future. I've either rittn about this or tweeted about when i was six, i was doing so badly in school, i couldn't read. There was a psychologist that came to one of my foster homes, and she administered an icu test, and i got really low scores.
