The Role of Women in Nursing and Teaching
There's something called oppressive group theory, which says that when there's a group that's considered inferior, they only have one another to take their frustrations out on. In both the nursing and the teaching professions, we have a workforce that's dominated by women, but supervised by men. So what happens in these situations is the women end up being so stressed by the way that they are treated that they don't have anyone else to take it out on. The tensions come out in clicks and sometimes toxicity at work. These are both professions in which people who are drawn to these professions are compassionate and selfless and thoughtful people.
