The Myth of Iwo Jima
Iwo Jima is one sixth the size of Nantucket. Harry Truman, when they're having a meeting on June 18th at the White House on whether to invade or not. He's highly conscious of what a bloodbath Okinawa was. And that's informing them, but they, they, but Truman approves the invasion because they don't know what the hell else to do. It sounds like a pretty limited thing to get seven, eight thousand people killed.
