I'm thinking that we may be prone to illness anxiety disorder if one of the main ways that we received nurture and care when we were young was when we were ill. There is something about all of this that gets to this mysterious in-between liminal space between body and psyche, which Jung called the psychoidal. And I think you're right, as if that it can have these very deep early roots,.Something about our relationship with our own physicality and how that gets mediated either well or poorly by early caregivers. Some parents may have difficulty really feeling bonded and connected with the child and may more easily feel connected with that child when that child is sick.
