The Role of Social Networks in the Evolution of Life
The bigger you are the less energy per capita per cell that economy of scale but associated with that which I didn't emphasize was a slowing down to the pace of life. The opposite is true in socioeconomic quantities because of the role of social networks and social networks have in them something that you don't see in biology. It's positive feedback over short periods of time that is A talks to B who talks to C who talks back to A, we get all our great ideas inspired by that kind of dynamic.
