Can You Put Clothes on in the Dream World?

It seems to me that these purple guys can't interact with this world otherwise they could just go get the kids themselves right they need us to do it and it's only upon us getting the kid for some reason that they can steal them. They can't leave the realm if one of us is there they show up when the kids get taken they like kind of possess them or whatever maybe while that's going on. We just front fall asleep really quick.
