Python's Design by Committee Process

In some ways, like, isn't the Python improvement process stuff like kind of like a design by committee on a feature? And then they have some way in Python to add it in as experimental or something. But this feels like somebody's trying to trick me into using this and testing their features. I don't really like that approach.
