Money is just a belief system. If humans say we don't believe the US dollar is valuable anymore, it will be thus. It's as simple as that. We can affect change by turning this hive mind into a mob and moving across to a parallel system. And if we decide your currency is worthless, it is worthless because we ascribe value. Value is not a scientific law. It's a mental state.
