William's Invasion of the Seas

Horses are not known for having a natural affinity for maritime adventures. The ships that william had on hand were designed to be occupied by supplies and people, not horses. If the horses panicked they would have to choose between getting trampled to death or ditching of the boat and into the ocean. There wouldn't be much room for experienced sailors on board so rowers would mostly need to be knights who rode those horses.
