The Buddha Did Not Teach Buddhism, He Did Not Educate Buddhism

The buddha did not teach buddhism. That came later, very much later. What the buddha taught was the dama, which means the law. He drew a map and said, here's the map. See if it corresponds to what's happening in yourself. All the teachings came out of his own experience of enlightenment. For some hundreds of years after his death, these teachings were passed on orally committed to memory. About 300 years afterwards, they were written down.
