The Similarity Between Human Infants and Rats
In a rat pup, they will cycle in and out of sleep every 15 to 20 seconds. It's quite amazing to watch. Human infants are different. They're cycling out every few minutes between sleep and wake. And the twitches are a little bit less dramatic. But if you take a video of a human infant and you speed it up five or ten times, which is really easy to do now with an iPhone or any other kind of a phone, the humans look just like the rats. Wow, I mean, it's crazy.
