Dieppe and the Dieppe Raid
Brigadier Peter Young was an amazing man. Joined the army just before the Second World War. Ended up in the commandos very early on. Was awarded a DSO in the Dieppe raid. And then he goes on to serve in Palestine after the war. One of his biggest legacies is, you know, with the Chalk Valley History Festival. He really is the founding father of reenactment in this country.
