Derek Logan says he got a call from Frank Zappa through his brother's friend. Ed Berman was born and raised in New York, but moved to Marin County for the 70s. He met Steve Logan accidentally at a bar just for shits and giggles. "I didn't really like the songs I didn't really love," Logan said of Gob Smack music.
