How to Assess Social Equity Impacts for the Built Environment
Daniel Treisman: There's been a lot of discussion around issues of equity. How do we try to address them in ways going forward that would help, you know, an engineering decision making around infrastructure and the like? He says his study looked at bridge systems across Pennsylvania; it found fewer bridges are statistically associated with racially diverse populations. Treisman: The more Hispanic, more African American, black or non-white, the more likely they are to have less bridges.
