A lot of times if we struggle ourselves, we don't want to be the patient. It's kind of demeaning like I'm not the person who needs help. And so a lot of times what we end up doing is becoming therapists in order to conquer our own internal struggles. But from an efficiency standpoint, being a patient is actually better. Compassion and non judgmentalness for someone for having mental illness in the first place.
