I don't think he's anywhere near as bad defensively as some people make out. The extensive coverage that he gets compared to the likes of Reece James or what have you when it comes to defensive duties. He is far more interesting, exciting and valuable as an attacking player than a defensive one. This kind of lets him do that roving thing where he can be all over the pitch and be in several different areas. It's making it very difficult for teams to know exactly how to cope with that and to counter it. And we might see teams start to counter a little bit better now that they can expect it a little bit more. But also, there's no coincidence that it worked
