Is the Definition of Life Dependent on the Parameter Space?
"I spend exactly zero time trying to understand the definition of life," he says. "Life is good at scaling up cognition, and that's cool, but I don't focus on, on life at all." We are not in a natural slash ideal state because evolution doesn't care for any of the things we value; it just optimizes for biomass. And so there is no such thing as 'natural' or 'unnatural'; people must internalize their own moral responsibility over what they choose to do.
