Is the Contribution of Large Language Models for Creating Malware a Threat?

Is there analogous research in penetration testing and red team tools, or better traps and honeypots for luring in threat actors? In my labs, we were able to demonstrate that the use of large language models for generating malware is possible. The truth is that is it really necessary? If I look back into how kind of malware campaigns are created, writing a piece of malware is only small component. And they are kind of script algorithms for automated malware writing available in the malware community for the last 15 years.
