The Importance of Sentience

Ray Kurzweil has the idea of super intelligence, that AI at some point will be able to write better software. What things can humans do that AI can't? There's a claim that we might be able to upload ourselves into a computer and in some sense gained eternal life. No, that's not possible. You can only upload the computable parts of human beings.
