The Reluctant Theologian Podcast
The Relationship Between God and Time
i would like us to consider some objections to the view. One of the best ways to fully understand a view is just to see how it handles objections. So i've got four differnt objections for youand here's the first one. A timeless god cannot be simultaneous with any temporal thing. We can say that god is causally prior to the beginning of the universe, in the sense that without god's existence, sans the universe, the universe could not have come into being. If you go back in time, eventually you will hit the beginning of time at the boundary of divine eternity. That point is topologically prior to every space time point.
