In the book, Freakonomics says studies of Australia and Canada have established a similar link between legalized abortion and crime. This is a lie. In Canada, abortion was legalized in two waves, one in 1969 and one in 1988. And then the paper that they're citing about Australia finds mixed results. It's like in Australia, it's also some states did it before other states. The researchers who clearly agree with Levitt and are like trying to make the data show that. We found it earlier in some states, but not in others. There's a review of 20 countries which found no link between abortion and Crime.
