The Importance of Promoting Your Show
Just because a show gets a little boost at the beginning from that promotion does not mean that it stays popular to our point. Marketing only gets you so far. You can market it to a big opening, but if people don't like it, it won't stay. So that's why being a number one for a week, it doesn't really mean that much. But if it hits number one for two, three, four weeks, if it stays in the top 10 for a couple of months, you know you have a hit. The rest of it, like Ryan Murphy tweeting, okay, it hit number one and then it falls off right away.
