Is the Hittite Kingdom a Hittie?
Ruling families spoke an indo european language and was tightly intertwined with each other. How were they able to retain control of their kingdom for as long as they did? Thats a very good question, because while they were assassinations and cos things like that, was always in that existing royal family. The thing is, each king had to establish his credibility as a great warrior or great warward. And he would demonstrate this by bringing back sak clods or cartloads of treasure from conquered states.
