Introduction
James O'brien grew up in a house where the plumber and electrician and the housewife and the unemployed talked about bringing down the government. Both his parents were deeply involved in it, he tells Pohallo. He recalls being eight or nine years old at a people's democracy march between belfast and dublin during the civil rights movement. His mother also had a lifelong passion for irish culture,. trying to preserve it.
