Do You Pre-Mix Still Life With Oranges?

It's not paint by number so I am not pre mixing with my palette knife for every single brush stroke. My main goal when I'm painting is to put something down correctly the first time and leave it alone. Pre-mixing for me is really just a base camp at the starting point. So then do you really walk through your setup and sort of think about okay again still life with oranges? No, no, but thanks for getting me back on track.
