You have to listen, be your own customer. Never distance yourself so much in your bloody ivory tower that you do not know what's actually happening in your own organization. Moving quickly from your mistakes is really important if you've got it wrong. I thought going to zuric was going to be a really important step on my career and i think it was a fantastic lesson for me. And honestly, i left because i didn't know what  I was going to do with the rest of my life.
