sub-Saharan africa has also seen many feminist movements pushing for greater women's representation. One part of africa remains especially patriarchal in terms of governance and that is the gulf of guinea. The mid three main drivers of patriarchy are the plow nomadic pastoralism and male dominated religions but they're spread by geography. In some cultures female earnings need to be sufficiently high to compensate for that loss of male honor.
