What Is the Process for Deciding Which Cases Are Heard at the Supreme Court?
In the federal system, defendants are entitled to take an appeal after they're convicted. They can go to one of the courts of appeals for me out of my old office. And they can even try to get the Supreme Court to hear their cases. The Supreme Court doesn't have to, but they can apply for certiorari.
