The History of the German Sapho
The education of the girls was handed over to a family friend of Elizabeth. She was a poetress known as the German Sapho, an ancient Greek poetist. One of her other specialties in addition to poetry was cartography. So she was able to take the girls' education of geography and have them drawing maps.
