I was a huge fan and still am of the clash. And I had remembered this song Armageddon Time, which actually they didn't even write. It was a reggae song originally. A lot of people don't get no justice tonight. That's what I was trying to do. They were strivers for sure. There was a certain equality of pretentiousness about them. The second that you got some money, that was the end of that. You know, we were like different species entirely.
