The Growth of Western Snowy Plovers in Oregon
The Western snowy plovers have rebounded to an estimated population of just under 500 birds. The birds were placed on the endangered species list in 1993 when their population declined, and as recently as 2003,. There are roped off areas all along the coast mainly in the southern coast in the Cuspe area. Up next is the much less joyful news that has been a bump in fatal accidents in Oregon's outdoors.
