Jane was one of six maids of honour for the Queen's 1953 coronation. The big question was whether permission would be granted to televise it from inside Westminster Abbey. Peter Dimick used his contacts in the press to force the government into saying yes. He said: 'We got up every trick in the book... everybody wanted to see'
