Is Vinyl Chloride a Hazardous Material?
The governor of Ohio said he learned that the train was not considered high hazardous material train. The railroad wasn't required to notify anyone about what was in the cargo. China has implemented a system whereby vinyl chloride is made on site when needed from calcium carbide, which itself is much safer to transport.
