Challenges and Successes of Industrial Policy

This chapter explores the lack of evidence for and against industrial policy and discusses successful examples of industrial policies in different countries. It emphasizes the importance of government support and collaboration with the private sector, as well as the need to revise policies and focus on services rather than manufacturing. The chapter also discusses the challenges of implementing industrial policy for services and suggests mechanisms for selecting firms to support.
