The New York Times Scrapped a Contest for Children to Hunt Feral Cats

A hunting contest in rural New Zealand where children were to compete to kill the greatest number of feral cats has been canceled after backlash from animal rights organizations. Feral cats are dangerous. They carry disease, they're all over the place. You need to treat them like a nuisance. And if you can get kids involved, that probably helps. That's not that fun, but I think smash will get a kick out of it.
