The Role of Rhetoric in Public Policy
Rhetoric is not mere rhetoric like you know in the sense of constructed narrative or something to dumb things down or to grandstand. In fact rhetoric is the point because it's the primary means of persuasion right and that essay was written primarily for economists who have become extremely technical. The challenge is that any democracy is only as good as its discourse when you have good discourse whether through rhetoric storytelling narratives traditions respectful debate India has a tradition of respectful debate but most democracies are losing their traditions of debate, he says.
