The world as we perceive it does not represent the world as it is. Everything that we perceive is both shaped and constrained in our awareness by a combination of our conscious minds and our physical bodies. Our perceptions are a construct that have evolved imperfectly to give us the information that is most important to keep us alive, not to give us an objective window into things as they actually are.
