The Turing Test: Is It Impossible to Fake Intelligence?

Turing's initial insight is that it is impossible to fake intelligence. He picked imitation, imitating each other as a way of measuring intelligence. In the Turing test you have one person on a panel who's telling the truth and the rest are lying. You can ask questions in order to figure out who's told the truth and who's pretending. Now once you've done this with humans and you've established a baseline of how good humans are at that, do the same task for an AI.
