The first anti discrimination law in the United States was passed in Alaska 14 years before it gained statehood. Elizabeth Johnson is a member of the executive committee of National Congress of American Indians. She has cancer and in 1958 dies, which makes you wonder kind of what her role would have been going into the 60s.
