I think the internet missed the opportunity to do much more around subscriptions and you pay for something and it's worth it. The original sin of the web was probably that we didn't build in more seamless micro payments because it immediately evolved to an attention economy. Getting people the opportunity to pay five cents to read an article if they're interested in it would also give creators more money. I like the idea of subscription so I'm hopeful that that gets that making it easier to pay becomes a reality.
