The Case of Morgan and Anissa Geyser
Anissa Weir and Morgan Geyser were charged in adult court with first-degree attempted intentional homicide, each basing up to 65 years in prison. In March of 2015, the judge rejected the argument that the girls acted under a kill or be killed belief. Anisa was released from the Winnebago Mental Health Institute two months after her release; Peyton Lutner is now a sophomore at an undisclosed college. If a juvenile commits murder, they go to a juvenile detention facility. When they turn 18, they are transferred to an adult facility.
