The Dangers of Synthetic Biology

The main thing that stands between the human species and the creation of a super-virus is a sense of responsibility among the individual biologists. We were vulnerable to the ethics of two people in 2011. Today, there's probably hundreds of people who, enabled by CRISPR, could do the things that were done in 2011. It seems like this is one of those fears that is almost built into the human species.
