Why You Keep Coming Back to Singapore So Many Times
Singapore is the exception in terms of an autocracy that basically managed to make itself rich and powerful, despite having no natural resources. Singapore's investment or Singapore's resources were and remain its people. The government invested really, really strongly in building human capital all the way up from early stage education into top-tier universities. But when it comes down to it, Singapore does not innovate at the rate of other democracies like the United States.
